THEME : RHEOLOGIE - INTERVENTION CONTRIBUTION

THIS PAPER FORMS PART OF THE SECOND GENERAL THEME - RHEOLOGY. IT CONCERNS THE ULTRASONIC VISCOMETER AND EXPERIMENTS ON THE APPLICATION OF ULTRASONIC WAVES FOR THE EXAMINATION OF BITUMEN AND BITUMINOUS MATERIALS. THE PAPER PRESENTS RESEARCH ON THIS SUBJECT CARRIED OUT IN POLAND. THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES THE APPARATUS USED WHICH IS COMPOSED OF AN ULTRASONIC DEFLECTOR AND AN HOPPLER ULTRATHERMOSTAT, AND THE PRINCIPLE OF MEASUREMENT. THE RESULTS OF RESEARCH INTO THE VARIATION OF THE DAMPING OF ULTRASONIC WAVES IN BITUMEN AS A FUNCTION OF ITS TEMPERATURE ARE ALSO GIVEN. BASED ON THE RESULTS OBTAINED AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE DYNAMIC VISCOSITY OF ONE BITUMEN DETERMINED BY OTHER METHODS, THE VISCOSITY CURVES OF SOME BITUMENS AS A FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE WERE PLOTTED.
