STUDY OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY USING MAINTENANCE DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM
The Maintenance Data Collection System contains maintenance data which, with certain limitations, may be utilized for derivation of the data on electromechanical equipment for reliability evaluation and prediction. A method of utilizing this system for shipboard reliability purposes is presented, showing how the data was used to obtain the number of failures during the reporting period. In the study the operating hours have been derived from steaming hours of ships with application of the usage factors.
