REGARDING THE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE INFLUENCE OF SPEED ON THE RESISTANCE TO CRACKING

K EHSPERIMENTAL'NOMU ISSLEDOVANIYU SKOROSTNOJ ZAVISIMOSTI TRESHCHINOSTOJKOSTI

METHODS ARE DISCUSSED FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION OF THE QUASI-STATIONARY LAW AND QUASI-LINEAR LAW DESCRIBING THE KINETIC BEHAVIOUR OF CRACK PROPAGATION. FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL PART A PHOTO-ELASTIC POLYMER WAS TAKEN, THE STRENGTH OF WHICH DEPENDS CLEARLY ON THE VELOCITY. MEASUREMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON PLANE SPECIMENS FISSURED THROUGHOUT, THE THICKNESS OF WHICH BEING MUCH GREATER THAN THE DIMENSION OF THE CRACK.
