THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE SAINT-CLOUD VIADUCT AND THE LASER FLEXIGRAPH

LA RECEPTION DU VIADUC DE SAINT-CLOUD ET LE FLEXIGRAPHE LASER.

THE LCPC HAS PARTICIPATED IN ACCEPTANCE TESTS FOR THE SAINT-CLOUD VIADUCT TO CHECK THE ACCURACY AND USEFULNESS OF THE LASER FLEXIGRAPH. THIS IS COMPOSED OF TWO PARTS: (1) A HELIUM-NEON REFERENCE LASER AND CONSISTING OF A TRANSMITTER, POSITIONED OUTSIDE THE BRIDGE FOR PREFERENCE AT A POINT WHERE THE DEFLECTION CAN BE MEASURED. IN ORDER TO MEASURE THE EVENTUAL ROTATION OF THE BOX BEAM, A FLEXIGRAPH LASER, TAKING ACCOUNT OF THE PROFILE ALONG THE VIADUCT, WAS POSITIONED ON EACH FOOTPATH AT MID SPAN. RESULTS OF STATIC AND DYNAMIC TESTS WITH THE AID OF THE PELTIER LEVEL AND THE SPOT FOLLOWER AND LINEAR CELL ARE GIVEN IN TWO TABLES. THE ARTICLE ALSO COMPRISES INFLUENCE DIAGRAMS REPRESENTING THE PASSAGE OF LORRIES OVER THE VARIOUS SPANS. IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THE DISSYMMETRY OF THE DEFLECTION VALUES UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM IN THE CASE OF AN ECCENTRIC DYNAMIC LOADING, AS WELL AS THE ALMOST-EXACT CONCORDANCE OF THE STATIC DEFLECTIONS, OBTAINED BY THE PELTIER LEVEL AND THE DEFLECTIONS OBTAINED ON THE PAVEMENTS UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM, USING THE LASER FLEXIGRAPH.
