A STATISTICALLY HIGHLY RELIABLE METHOD IS REPORTED FOR THE CALCULATION OF THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE BLOOD ALCOHOL CONTENT AT THE TIME OF AN ACCIDENT OR OFFENCE. THE METHOD INVOLVES THE EVALUATION OF BLOOD ALCOHOL CONTENT CURVES OBTAINED FROM THE LITERATURE WITH THE AID OF MODERN COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY. THE METHOD IS EQUALLY VALID FOR VARIOUS DRINKING CONDITIONS AND FOR VARIOUS PERIODS OF TIME BETWEEN DRINKING, THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT AND THE TIME OF TAKING THE TEST SAMPLE. TO THE BLOOD ALCOHOL VALUE OF THE BLOOD SAMPLE, A FIXED VALUE OF 0,2 PARTS PER MILLE IS ADDED, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL 0,2 PARTS PER MILLE PER HOUR. THE METHOD IS DEMONSTRATED BY MEANS OF EXAMPLES.
