BIEL MEASURING CAR

MESSWAGEN BIEL

DYNAMIC TESTS CAN BE UNDERTAKEN WITH THE BIEL MEASURING CAR WHICH WAS COMPLETED AT THE END OF 1977. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE THESE ARE FOR STUDYING THE INTERACTION BETWEEN VEHICLE (TYRE) AND ROAD SURFACE. THE MEASURING CAR IS A CADILLAC-ELDORADO, THE REAR OF WHICH IS EXTENDED. THE VEHICLE HAS FOUR AXLES, THE FRONT TWO OF WHICH ARE HINGED. THE VERY FRONT AXLE AND BOTH THE REAR AXLES ARE DRIVEN INDEPENDENTLY BY MEANS OF ASSOCIATED CADILLAC-ELDORADO ENGINES. THE MEASURED FORCES AT THE PERIPHERY OF THE WHEELS ARE STABILIZED BY MEASURING CELLS. THE MEASURING WHEELS CAN BE LOADED UP TO 5000 NEWTON. IT IS POSSIBLE TO BOTH DRIVE AND BRAKE THE WHEELS. THE PROPULSION ENERGY AND THE BRAKING ENERGY ARE SUPPLIED OR TAKEN UP BY THE FOURTH AXLE. ALL MEASURED VALUES ARE RECORDED WITH THE PLUS CODE MODULATION MEASURING FACILITY.
