THIS RESEARCH PROJECT COMPRISES THE FOLLOWING INVESTIGATIONS: (1) STUDY OF THE DEVIATORY CREEP OF CUBZAC SOIL; (2) DETERMINATION OF THE LIMIT STATE SURFACE AND DEFORMABILITY PARAMETERS OF CUBZAC SOIL; (3) TESTS IN PLANE DEFORMATION WITH A PROTOTYPE TRIAXIAL CELL. EARTH STRUCTURES; (4) TESTS USING THE EFFECTIVE STRESS PATH IMPOSED WITH THE SERVO TRIAXIAL CELL OF THE TOULOUSE REGIONAL LABORATORY; (5) CONTROLLED GRADIENT TEST WITH THE ANGERS PROTOTYPE EQUIPMENT AND THE AUTOMATION SYSTEM OF THE TOULOUSE REGIONAL LABORATORY. TESTS AT A CONSTANT RATE OF DEFORMATION; (6) STUDY OF A LARGE-DIAMETER CORE CUTTER AND TESTS WITH THE 200 DIAMETER CORE CUTTER BORROWED FROM THE LAVAL UNIVERSITY; (7) SETTING UP OF A WORKING GROUP FOR STUDYING PROBLEMS SPECIFIC TO STIFF SOIL.
