THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE THE SELECTION OF THE TYPE OF STRUCTURE FOR THIS SINGLE SPAN ARCH BRIDGE, ITS CHARACTERISTICS, THE DESIGN AND CALCULATION, THE MANUFACTURE, ASSEMBLY AND ERECTION OF THE BRIDGE. IT HAS A LENGTH OF 620 M, INCLUDING ACCESS VIADUCTS, THE BRIDGE ITSELF BEING 175 M IN LENGTH. THE DECK IS A STEEL BOX GIRDER WITH THREE CELLS OF TOTAL WIDTH VARYING BETWEEN 14 AND 14.118 M AND A HEIGHT OF WEB VARYING BETWEEN 3 M AND 3.308 M. THE CENTRAL BOX IS FLANKED BY TWO WIDE CANTILEVERS; THE FLANGES OF THE ARCH ARE ALSO OF BOX SECTION, OF 2.41 M WIDTH, WITH A WEB OF 2.50 M DEPTH; THE SUSPENSION MEMBERS ARE ALSO OF BOX SHAPE, 2.30 M X 0.60 M IN SECTION; THE VARIATION IN THE WIDTH OF THE BRIDGE IS DUE TO LIGHT HORIZONTAL CURVATURE AT ITS SOUTH EXTREMITY, THE ARCH BEING ABSOLUTELY RECTILINEAR AND OF CONSTANT WIDTH; THIS CURVATURE ALSO RESULTS IN A VARIATION IN THE TRANSVERSE SLOPE AND CONSEQUENTLY IN THE HEIGHT OF THE DECK WEB.
