STUDY OF FREIGHT TRANSPORT DISTRIBUTION TO IMPROVE AND QUANTIFY EXISTING MODELS

UNTERSUCHUNG DER VERKEHRSTEILUNG IM GUETERVERKEHR ZUR VERBESSERUNG UND QUANTIFIZIERUNG VORLIEGENDER MODELLANSAETZE

IT HAS BEEN SHOWN THAT THE QUANTIFICATION AND OPERATION OF TRAFFIC DISTRIBUTION IN FREIGHT TRANSPORT PLANNING BY MEANS OF MODAL SPLIT MODELS IS NOT SATISFACTORY. A MODEL DEVELOPED IN A PREVIOUS STUDY IS TO BE IMPROVED AND SUBJECTED TO A QUANTIFYING ANALYSIS, AND AN ATTEMPT MADE TO DESIGN AND TEST MODIFICATIONS AND POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVE MODELS. IN PARTICULAR THE DIVISION OF WORK BETWEEN THE COMPETING TRANSPORT SYSTEM AND THE ALLOCATION OF TASKS SPECIFIC TO TRANSPORT MODES ARE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE MODEL. FOR THIS PURPOSE IT IS NECESSARY TO COLLECT DETAILED DATA AND TO CARRY OUT A MORE ACCURATE REGRESSION ANALYSIS OF THE MODEL AND THE POSSIBLE MODIFICATIONS AND ALTERNATIVES. AFTER THE MODELS HAVE BEEN QUANTIFIED AND TESTED THEY ARE TO BE EVALUATED FOR THEIR POSSIBLE APPLICATION AND AREAS OF USE. THE AIM OF THE WORK IS TO DEVELOP AND CALIBRATE OPERATIONAL TRAFFIC DISTRIBUTION MODELS FOR FREIGHT TRANSPORT.
