DRIVER BEHAVIOUR ON BENDS

FAHRVERHALTEN IN KURVEN

THE STUDY IS CONCERNED WITH THE RELATION BETWEEN ATTITUDES TOWARDS SAFETY AND OBSERVED BEHAVIOUR ON BENDS. ATTITUDE TO SAFETY IS TO BE DEFINED BY THE VARIABLE "IMPRESSION OF THE DANGEROUSNESS OF A BEND", AND IS TO BE OPERATIONALISED IN TWO WAYS - IN THE FORM OF RATINGS BY TEST SUBJECTS, AND BY THE MOTOR REACTION OF TEST SUBJECTS UNDER SIMULATED CONDITIONS AND THE CONTENT OF VERBAL INTERPRETATION OF A SITUATION. SIMULATION IS BY MEANS OF FILMED ILLUSTRATIONS OF 20 SELECTED BENDS, ON EACH ONE OF WHICH THE ACTUAL BEHAVIOUR OF 100 CAR DRIVERS WAS SYSTEMATICALLY OBSERVED.
