GEOPHYSICAL METHOD FOR THE PRELIMINARY RECONNAISSANCE OF TUNNEL STRUCTURES

GEOPHYSIKALISCHE VERFAHREN ZUR VORERKUNDUNG VON TUNNELBAUTEN

SEISMIC METHODS ARE TO FORM THE BASIS OF THE STUDY. GEOELECTRIC METHODS OF MEASUREMENT WILL ALSO BE USED TO LOCATE FAULTS AND TO DETERMINE CLAY ROCKS. DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIAL METHODS WILL DEPEND ON ACCESSIBILITY TO THE ROCK IN THE TUNNEL SECTION. IN THESE GEOPHYSICAL STUDIES ALL OTHER GEOTECHNICAL PARAMETERS ARE TO BE RELATED TO THE GEOPHYSICAL VALUES, SO THAT VALID CORRELATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED FOR THE CONDITIONS IN THE TUNNEL. THE EXPECTED EXPERIMENTAL RELATIONS ARE TO BE PROVIDED WITH A THEORETICAL BASIS.
