TRAFFIC EDUCATION AS A SCHOOL TASK FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF TEACHERS

THE OBJECT IS TO EXAMINE THE CURRENT POSITION OF TRAFFIC EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS AND TO DETERMINE THE EXPERIENCES AND OPINIONS OF TEACHERS CONCERNED WITH TRAFFIC EDUCATION. TO FACILITATE AN EVALUATION OF THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS EXPERIENCE, A CONTROL GROUP OF TEACHERS NOT CONCERNED WITH TRAFFIC EDUCATION IS ALSO BEING EXAMINED. IT IS ALSO INTENDED TO COMPARE OBJECTIVES SET OUT IN THE KMK RECOMMENDATIONS AND TRAFFIC EDUCATION ACTUALLY PRACTISED IN SCHOOLS. THE MAIN PHASE OF THE STUDY WILL CONSIST OF A NATIONWIDE REPRESENTATIVE SURVEY OF 1000 TEACHERS, AND WILL BE CONCERNED WITH THE INSTRUCTORS, PRACTICAL INSTRUCTION, FORMAL CRITERIA FOR THE VALUE OF PRACTICAL TRAFFIC EDUCATION, EVALUATION OF THE SCHOOL SURROUNDINGS, AND SUBJECTIVE ESTIMATES OF TEACHERS CONCERNED AND NOT CONCERNED WITH TRAFFIC EDUCATION.
