NACHWEIS VON MEDIKAMENTEN BEI VERKEHRSAUFFAELLIGEN KRAFTFAHRERN

THE PROJECT IS CONCERNED WITH THE EXAMINATION OF BLOOD SAMPLES FROM DRIVERS WHO HAVE COMMITTED TRAFFIC OFFENCES FOR THE POSSIBLE PRESENCE OF DRUGS. OF THE 4000 BLOOD SAMPLES EXAMINED EACH YEAR FOR ALCOHOL CONTENT AT THE INSTITUTE FOR LEGAL MEDICINE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SAARLAND, ABOUT 500 SAMPLES WERE SELECTED. BY MEANS OF INSTRUMENTAL AND ANALYTICAL METHODS (RADIO AND ENZYME IMMUNOASSAY, GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY WITH SPECIFIC DETECTORS (NFID AND ECD)) AND COMPUTER EVALUATED MASS SPECTROGRAPHY AMD MASS FRAGMENTOGRAPHY, NUMEROUS DRUGS RELEVANT TO TRAFFIC MEDICINE (INCLUDING THERAPEUTIC DRUGS) ARE BEING DETERMINED. THESE CONSIST OF ABOUT 75 INDIVIDUAL MATERIALS, MAINLY FROM THE RANGE OF HYPNOTICS, SEDATIVES AND PSYCHOPHARMACA. BY THE END OF 1978 150 SAMPLES HAD BEEN EXAMINED.
