THE DUTY OF DRIVING INSTRUCTORS TO WEAR SAFETY BELTS

ZUR ANSCHNALLPFLICHT FUER FAHRLEHRER

THE STUDIES CONSISTED OF SURVEYS OF DRIVING INSTRUCTORS, TESTS WITH THE VEHICLE STATIONARY AND TESTS WITH THE VEHICLE MOVING. THE OBJECT WAS TO CLARIFY WHETHER THE UNBELTED DRIVING INSTRUCTOR, IN CONTRAST TO A BELTED INSTRUCTOR, COULD POSSIBLY PREVENT AN ACCIDENT FROM HIS POSITION AS PASSENGER. THE TESTS SHOWED THAT FREEING DRIVING INSTRUCTORS FROM THE COMPULSORY WEARING OF BELTS IS NOT JUSTIFIED.
