THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL IMPROVEMENTS IN THE WAYSS AND FREYTAG HYDRO SHIELD DRIVING SYSTEM HAVE LED TO A WORKING PROTOTYPE WHICH GENERATES LITTLE DISTURBANCE AND WHICH HAS GREAT ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES OVER CLASSICAL EQUIPMENT, PARTICULARLY ON LARGE CONTRACTS. THE EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY USED ON THE HAMBURG-WILHELMSBURG CONSTRUCTION SITE AND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE UNDERGROUND RAILWAY IN ANTWERP.
