DIRECT HUELVA-CADIZ ROAD

CARRETERA DIRECTA HUELVA-CADIX

COMMENTS ARE MADE ON THE PLANNED DIRECT ROAD BETWEEN HUELVA AND CADIZ, WHICH WOULD BE PART OF THE RING ROAD ROUND THE NATIONAL PARK OF DONANA, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT NATURE RESERVES IN EUROPE. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE DEMOGRAPHIC, ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT CONDITIONS OF THE TWO ZONES TO BE LINKED. A THEORETICAL CALCULATION OF THE DAILY AVERAGE TRAFFIC IS MADE, AND AN ECONOMIC STUDY OF THE VARIOUS SOLUTIONS POSSIBLE IS PRESENTED. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT A DIRECT HUELVA-CADIZ ROAD WOULD BRING IN SAVINGS OF 190 MILLION COMPARED TO THE HUELVA-SEVILLE-CADIZ PLAN. ONE OF ITS ADVANTAGES WOULD BE THAT IT WOULD NOT BE HARMFUL TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND VISUAL ATTRACTION OF THE REGIONS TRAVERSED.
