COUPLING BETWEEN LOAD UNITS AND TRANSPORT UNITS

FACTOR DE ACOPLAMIENTO DE UNIDADES DE CARGA CON UNIDADES DE TRANSPORTE

THE AUTHOR RECALLS THE INFLUENCE OF ADEQUATE COUPLING BETWEEN LOAD UNITS AND TRANSPORT UNITS ON EARTHWORKS OUTPUT. THE COUPLING FACTOR IS DEFINED AS A FUNCTION OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF LOAD AND TRANSPORT UNITS AND OF RESPECTIVE CYCLES. TWO EXAMPLES, ONE THEORETICAL, ONE REAL, ARE GIVEN AND THE RESULTS ARE PLOTTED ON A GRAPH. THE REAL PRODUCTION CURVE REMAINS ALWAYS BELOW THE THEORETICAL CURVE BECAUSE OF A NUMBER OF FACTORS WHICH ARE ANALYZED IN THIS ARTICLE. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE EQUIPMENT TO USE DEPENDING ON WHETHER THE AIM IS MAXIMUM PRODUCTION OR MINIMUM OVERALL COST. A GRAPH IS PLOTTED FOR THE MINIMUM OVERALL COST TAKING AS COORDINATES THE NUMBER OF DUMPERS ON THE ONE HAND, AND THE PRODUCTION AND COST PER CUBIC METER ON THE OTHER.
