MASS AND ELASTIC SYSTEM OF MOTOR VEHICLE SUSPENSION

LA MASA Y EL SISTEMA ELASTICO EN LA SUSPENSION DEL AUTOMOVIL

THE AUTHOR PRESENTS A THEORETICAL STUDY OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. FIRST THE BEHAVIOUR OF AN ELASTIC SYSTEM FORMED BY TWO VERTICAL SPRINGS CONNECTED AT THEIR UPPER PART IS ANALYZED. THE MODEL DERIVED IS APPLIED TO THE STUDY OF THE INTERRELATED ROLLING, PITCHING AND YAW OF A CAR. A MONOPERIODIC SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS PROPOSED, IN WHICH A SUITABLE DISTRIBUTION OF MASSES AND DISTANCE BETWEEN AXLES PREVENTS ONE TYPE OF OSCILLATION TO TRIGGER OFF ANOTHER, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT PASSENGER COMFORT.
