PROBLEMS SPECIFIC TO SUSPENSION BRIDGES AND STAYED GIRDER BRIDGES

PROBLEMES SPECIFIQUES AUX PONTS SUSPENDUS ET A HAUBANS

THE AIM OF THE RESEARCH IS TO MEASURE THE TENSION IN THE CABLES OF SUSPENSION BRIDGES AND STAYED GIRDER BRIDGES. THE CABLE MEASUREMENT METHOD WAS TESTED IN 1978. IN 1979 A STUDY WILL BE MADE, FOR DIFFERENT CASES (CABLES, STAYS, SUSPENSION RODS), OF THE EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FOR USE WITH A VIEW TO DEFINING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT. ANOTHER STUDY WILL BE CONDUCTED OF THE AEROELASTIC VIBRATIONS OF THE STAYS OF LARGE STRUCTURES: CONTINUATION OF THE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY; PARTICIPATION TO THEORETICAL STUDIES.
