TESTS ON AGGREGATES

ESSAIS DE GRANULATS

THE AIM OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO DEVELOP TESTS FOR CHIPPINGS AND TO DRAFT TEST PROCEDURES. AN EFFORT WILL BE MADE TOWARDS THE AUTOMATION OF THE TESTS MOST USED FOR QUALITY CONTROL. THE RESEARCH WILL ALSO BE DIRECTED TOWARDS FINDING A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF THE EVOLUTION IN CONTINUOUSLY GRADED MATERIALS. IN 1979 IS IS ENVISAGED: TO STUDY THE DRAFTING OF THE TEST PROCEDURES OF THE FOLLOWING TESTS: MOISTURE CONTENT OF SAND, METHYLENE BLUE TEST, CONTINUITY TEST, PETROGRAPHIC IDENTIFICATION, SULPHIDE AND SULPHATE CONTENT, SAMPLING IN MATERIAL FLOW; TO CONTINUE INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE AUTOMATION OF THE MOST USED TESTS: GRADING ANALYSIS, FINES CONTENT, MOISTURE CONTENT, CLEANLINESS OF CHIPPINGS AND SAND; TO STUDY SPECIFIC AREAS: ORGANIC MATERIALS, SOLUBLE SALTS, ALKALI REACTION, SOUP PHENOMENON, POLISHING-ANGULARITY RELATION; TO CONTINUE THE STUDY OF THE EVOLUTION IN CONTINUOUSLY GRADED MATERIALS UNDER REPETITIVE LOADING (TRIAXIAL, GIRATORY COMPACTION). THIS PROJECT REPLACES IRRD RESEARCH PROJECT NOS 500281 AND 500481.
