THE AIM OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO VERIFY OR MODIFY EXISTING SPECIFICATIONS GOVERNING THE USE OF GRAVEL-SLAG MIXTURES IN ROADBASES. IN 1976, IT IS PROPOSED: (1) TO DETERMINE THE INFLUENCE OF HARDNESS AND MINERALOGICAL NATURE OF AGGREGATES ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF GRAVEL-SLAG MIXTURES, (2) TO DEVELOP NEW TESTS, (3) TO CONTINUE THE STUDY OF THE FOS-SUR-MER SLAG COMPARED WITH THE HEMATITE CAST IRON SLAG FROM DUNKERQUE AND CAST IRON THOMAS SLAG FROM EASTERN FRANCE, (4) TO STUDY THE INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF MAGNESIAN LIME AS SETTING AGENT ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A GRAVEL-SLAG MIXTURE.
