THE OBJECT OF THIS WORK IS TO DEVELOP OPTICAL STRESS ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES: - BY WIDENING THE FIELD OF APPLICATION; - BY ADAPTING OR MODIFYING THE PRESENT TECHNIQUES SO THAT THEY ARE MORE EFFECTIVE. IN 1979 IT IS PLANNED: IN PHOTOELASTICIMETRY: TO IMPROVE THE METHOD OF PROCESSING MEASUREMENTS MADE WITH THE PHOTOELASTICIMETER ROBERT; TO DEVELOP A METHOD OF MULTIPLYING ISOCHROMATIC FRINGES; TO DEVELOP THE MANUFACTURE OF PHOTOELASTIC COATINGS FOR COVERING A WIDER FIELD RANGE OF USES. IN MOIRE: TO MANUFACTURE NEW NETWORKS OF VARIABLE STEPS; TO CONTINUE TO IMPROVE THE FRINGE AUTOMATIC PROCESSING DEVICE. IN PROCESSING METHODS: TO SUMMARIZE KNOWN METHODS OF FUNCTIONAL APPROXIMATION WITH A VIEW TO DEVELOPING A PROGRAM FOR SMOOTHING DATA, WHICH COULD BE INTEGRATED IN PROGRAMS FOR PROCESSING THE VARIOUS STRESS ANALYSIS METHODS USED.
