BRIDGE SURVEILLANCE - PARTS 1 AND 2

BRUECKENUEBERWACHUNG - 1. UND 2. TEIL

PART 1 - VIBRATION STUDY PROCEDURES: PRELIMINARY TESTS SHOULD CLARIFY WHETHER VIBRATION MEASURING PROCEDURES ARE SUITABLE FOR CHECKING BRIDGES. THE AIM IS TO ESTABLISH THE AMOUNT OF STEEL TENSILE REINFORCEMENT LOSS NEEDED TO BRING ABOUT A NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE STRUCTURE. PART 2 - ULTRASONIC AND POTENTIAL MEASUREMENTS: THE OBJECT IS TO ESTABLISH WHETHER ULTRASONIC TESTING IS SUITABLE FOR DETERMINING AND LIMITING DEFECTIVELY COMPACTED, LOW-STRENGTH OR DAMAGED AREAS OF CONCRETE. MEASUREMENTS OF POTENTIAL FOR DETERMINING AND LIMITING ACTIVE CORROSION AREAS IN STEEL INSERTS AND OTHER METHODS FOR THE NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF CONCRETE AND REINFORCEMENT ARE ALSO BEING EXAMINED.
