TRAFFIC ENGINEERING PRINCIPLES FOR THE PLANTING OF THE ROAD AREA

GRUNDLAGEN FUER DIE BEPFLANZUNG DES STRASSENBEREICHES AUS VERKEHRSTECHNISCHER SICHT

MEASURES REQUIRED FOR LANDSCAPE DESIGN MAY CONFLICT WITH THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF ROAD PLANNING AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF TRAFFIC. THE OBJECT OF THE STUDY IS TO ELIMINATE THESE CONTRADICTIONS AND TO COORDINATE THE WORK OF LANDSCAPING WITH TRAFFIC ENGINEERING REQUIREMENTS. PLANTING MAKES AN IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION TO OPTICAL GUIDANCE, PARTICULARLY IN AREAS OF BAD VISIBILITY SUCH AS BROWS OF HILLS AND JUNCTIONS. PLANTING IS TO BE CONSIDERED AS A PROTECTION AGAINST GLARE, WIND, SNOW, NOISE AND BAD VISIBILITY. THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO ESTABLISH SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES FOR THE PLANTING OF ROADS. THE FOCUS OF THE STUDY IS ON EVALUATING THE INFLUENCE OF THE PLANTING ON SAFETY.
