THE PAPER PROVIDES A COMPREHENSIVE DESCRIPTION OF THE MEASURING SECTION, AS WELL AS OF THE DIFFUSERS, BLOWERS, COOLING SYSTEM, SIX-COMPONENT FORCE-BALANCE, ROLLER TEST-RIG, PRESSURE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM, REAL-TIME COMPUTER, CONTROL CENTRE AND MODEL PREPARATION ROOM. FINALLY THE CLOSE CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN ROAD TESTS AND WIND TUNNEL TESTS, AND THE GREATER ECONOMY OF THE LATTER ARE DISCUSSED.
