WEIGHTS OF 15 - 20 TONS ARE DROPPED FROM A HEIGHT OF 15 - 20 M ON TO A GRAVEL BED LAID ON TOP OF THE PEATY SUBSOIL. SEVERAL SERIES OF MEASUREMENTS ARE TO BE MADE TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTIVENESS AND THE LIMITS OF APPLICATION OF THIS NEW METHOD.
