DETERMINATION OF LAYERS OF WATER BY MEASUREMENTS

MESSTECHNISCHE ERFASSUNG VON SCHICHTWASSER

MEASUREMENTS ARE BEING MADE OF THE IN-SITU DISTRIBUTION OF ELECTRICAL, MAGNETIC, AND ELECTRO-MAGNETIC FIELDS IN INHOMOGENEOUS SOIL ZONES HAVING AN INCREASED WATER CONTENT (FORMED BY SAND LENSES AND SAND LAYERS). THE FIELD TESTS BEGIN WITH MEASUREMENTS OF THE FIELD DISTRIBUTION IN THE AREA AROUND WELLS AND NEAR SLIDES CAUSED BY LAYERS OF WATER. FURTHER STUDIES ARE CARRIED OUT IN UNKNOWN TERRAIN. THE RESULTS ARE BEING SUPPORTED BY WORK IN EXPLORATORY BOREHOLES AND SHAFTS. THE MEASURED DATA ARE INTENDED AS AN AID TO THE PLANNING ENGINEER AND SHOULD FACILITATE THE CARRYING OUT OF ECONOMIC METHODS OF IMPROVEMENT.
