MARSHALL SAMPLES WERE MADE OF ANAEROBIC GRAVEL SAND, CARBONATED GRAVEL SAND, GRANITIC ROCK CHIPPINGS AND DOLOMITIC ROCK MIXED WITH PETROLEUM BITUMEN 120; IN EACH CASE GROUPS OF 3 SAMPLES WERE SUBJECTED TO A TRIAXIAL TEST. THE NUMERICAL VALUES DETERMINED WILL BE A BASIS FOR CALCULATIONS WHICH DEPEND ON ELASTIC THEORY AND FOR THE OPTIMUM DESIGN OF WEAR-RESISTANT ROADBASES.
