ANALYSIS OF INCLINED CRACKING SHEAR IN SLENDER REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS
AN ATTEMPT IS DESCRIBED TO ANALYTICALLY DEFINE THE SHEAR CAPACITY OF SLENDER CONCRETE BEAMS. THE ANALYSIS ASSUMES THAT FAILURE IS DUE TO AN INCLINED CRACK WHICH DEVELOPS IN A REGION OF COMBINED SHEAR AND FLEXURE. FLEXURAL CRACKING, SHEAR STRESS DISTRIBUTION, DOWELING FORCES AND CHANGES IN THE LONGITUDINAL STEEL STRESSES ARE CONSIDERED. THE ANALYSIS IS USED TO STUDY THE EFFECTS OF SEVERAL VARIABLES ON THE SHEAR CAPACITY OF SLENDER REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS. /AUTHOR/
