ULTIMATE DESIGN OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS

A METHOD IS PRESTENED BY WHICH PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS CAN BE DESIGNED ON THE BASIS OF STRENGTH AND DUCTILITY. THE REQUIREMENTS OF STRENGTH AND DUCTILITY ARE DEVELOPED IN A GENERAL FORM AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON THE DIMENSIONS OF THE BEAM IS STUDIED. THE INFLUENCE OF COMPRESSION STEEL ON DUCTILITY AND THE REQUIRED AREA OF THE BEAM IS PRESENTED. NUMERICAL EXAMPLES ARE INCLUDED TO SHOW THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF THE METHOD IN DESIGN. /AUTHOR/
