HIGH LABOR COST AS COMPARED TO EUROPEAN WAGE SCALES HAS INHIBITED ITS USE IN NORTH AMERICA. PRODUCTION LINE METHODS AND EQUIPMENT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO ACHIEVE EFFICIENCY AND ECONOMY IN THIS FIELD, BRINGING ORTHOTROPIC DECK CONSTRUCTION INTO COMPETITION IN LONG-SPAN BRIDGE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION. /AUTHOR/
