THERMAL BEHAVIOR OF COMPOSITE BRIDGES - INSULATED AND UNINSULATED

REPORTED ARE THEORIES AND EXPERIMENTAL DATA PERTAINING TO VARIOUS THERMAL ASPECTS OF COMPOSITE BRIDGE STRUCTURES WITH STEEL BEAMS AND CONCRETE DECKS OR PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS AND CONCRETE DECKS, SOME OF WHICH ARE INSULATED ON THE UNDERSIDE WITH URETHANE FOAM. HEAT CONDUCTION BEHAVIOR AS WELL AS INDUCED THERMOELASTIC STRESSES AND DEFORMATIONS ARE DISCUSSED IN REGARD TO THESE BRIDGE TYPES. CERTAIN LIMITED CONCLUSIONS ARE DRAWN AS AFFECTING CURRENT DESIGN PROCEDURES . /AUTHOR/
