PROCEDURE: OBSERVATION OF RESCUE SERVICES, BEHAVIOUR AT THE ACCIDENT SITE, SHORT INTERVIEWS AT THE SITE OF THE ACCIDENT, INTENSIVE INTERVIEWS, DOCTORS' REPORTS AND POLICE ROAD ACCIDENT REPORTS. IT WAS SHOWN THAT MEN AND WOMEN ARE EQUALLY READY TO INTERVENE; OLDER PEOPLE PROVIDED BETTER QUALITY INTERVENTION AND THAT HELP INCREASED THE MORE HELPLESS THE VICTIM. HELP FROM THE PUBLIC DECREASES WHEN ORGANISED AID ARRIVES AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT.
