AN APPARATUS FOR MEASURING SLAB ACTION IN FLEXIBLE TYPE PAVEMENTS

THE FUNDAMENTAL NATURE OF SLAB-ACTION IS ANALYZED, AND A SLAB TESTING APPARATUS IS DEVELOPED. A FEW PRELIMINARY TESTS OF SLAB-ACTION IN FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT MATERIALS ARE MADE AND RESULTS GIVEN. THE USES AND SIGNIFICANCE OF SUCH MEASUREMENTS ARE DISCUSSED.
