DETERMINATION OF THE GRANULAR COMPOSITION OF NON-COHESIVE MATERIALS WITH CONTACTLESS METHODS (LASER AND GAMMA RAY)

FOR THE LASER TECHNIQUE A FORMULA IS PROPOSED WHICH GIVES THE OPTIMUM HEIGHT OF FALL OF AGGREGATES FROM A CONVEYOR BELT UP TO THE SPOT WHICH IS SCANNED BY THE LASER BEAM; FOR A 5/10 MM AGGREGATE THE GRADING COMPOSITION OBTAINED WITH A LASER BEAM IS APPROXIMATELY 4% OF THAT OBTAINED IN SIEVE ANALYSIS (WIDTH OF CONVEYOR BELT 1 M, RATE OF FLOW LOWER THAN 100 T/H). FOR A HIGHER RATE OF FLOW THE GAMMA RAY METHOD IS RECOMMENDED; IT GIVES AN ACCURACY OF 10%. THERE EXISTS A TRANSLATION INTO FRENCH OF THE ORIGINAL RUSSIAN ARTICLE UNDER TRADUCTION LCPC 79 T7.
