EVALUATION DE L'IMPACT DES OPERATIONS MINERALURGIQUES SUR L'ENVIRONNEMENT - RELATION AVEC LA LEGISLATION EN VIGUEUR

THIS REPORT REVIEWS FRENCH LEGISLATION CONCERNING THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE MINERALOGICAL INDUSTRY ON THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. DECREES OF 13TH MAY 1975 DEFINE THE CONDITIONS GOVERNING THE EVACUATION OF WASTE PRODUCTS IN THE WATER TABLE; THE LAW OF THE 22ND DECEMBER 1976 AUTHORIZES THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT TO APPROVE THE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION ON THE PREVENTION OF SEA POLLUTION AND DEFINES THE TECHNIQUES OF IMMERSION; CIRCULARS DATED 1970-1971 CONCERNING DANGEROUS ESTABLISHMENTS, DEFINE THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS AND MEANS OF CONTROLLING THEM; LASTLY THE LAW FOR THE PROTECTION OF NATURE DATED 10 JULY 1976 REQUIRES THAT AN IMPACT FILE BE PREPARED AND ADDED TO THE REQUEST FOR CONSTRUCTION. WITH THIS AIM IN VIEW A PRELIMINARY INVENTORY OF POTENTIAL NUISANCES AND METHODS OF CONTROL MUST BE CONDUCTED. THIS REPORT WAS PRESENTED AT THE WORKING DAYS HELD AT LE TOUQUET, 1-2 JUNE 1978.
