DISCUSSION OF REPORT AND SUPPLEMENTARY STUDIES: INVESTIGATION OF PLAIN AND REINFORCED CONCRETE SECTIONS INTER-COUNTY HIGHWAYS NO. 3, ERIE COUNTY, OHIO

A STUDY WAS MADE OF 15 MILES OF PAVEMENT PART PLAIN AND PART REINFORCED. THE STUDY REPORTED THE FOLLOWING GENERAL CONCLUSIONS: (1) PAVEMENT CONDITION WAS DEPENDENT ON SUBSOIL, DRAINAGE AND INSPECTION, (2) REINFORCEMENT REDUCED CRACKING, BREAKAGE, REPLACEMENT AND WIDTH OF CRACKS, AND (3) RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE FOR REINFORCED PAVEMENT CONSTRUCTED WITH CENTER JOINT AND LAID UNDER THE BEST OF INSPECTION.
