THE WORKING PARTY OF THE GERMAN CONCRETE ASSOCIATION ON THE SUBJECT OF COATINGS FOR CONCRETE IS PREPARING A NOTE ON THE USE OF COLD CURED RESINS IN CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION. IN 1972 THERE WAS PUBLISHED "PREPARATORY SPECIFICATION FOR THE TESTING OF COATED MATERIALS FOR KERBINGS AND TRAFFICKED AREAS". NOW THE TEST PROCEDURES ARE RE-PUBLISHED. IN CONTRAST TO THE 1972 EDITION, NO REQUIREMENTS ARE LAID DOWN, SINCE THE RELATION BETWEEN THE QUALITIES OF COATED MATERIALS AND OF FINISHED COATINGS IS STILL TOO UNCERTAIN TO PROVIDE CRITERIA. MENTION IS MADE OF THE DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING WORK IN RESPECT OF FUTURE TEST PROCEDURES BEING CARRIED OUT BY VARIOUS ORGANISATIONS. THE NOTE DOES NOT CONTAIN DETAILS OF PROCEDURES FOR ESTABLISHING RESISTANCE TO WEAR, TO SKIDDING AND TO LINEAL EXPANSION. SHOULD TESTS FOR THESE BE REQUIRED, REFERENCE SHOULD BE MADE TO DIN 52108 (BOEHMSCHEIBE) AND SKID RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT WITH THE PENDULUM APPARATUS. IN DETAIL, THE FOLLOWING TEST PROCESSES ARE DESCRIBED: MOISTURE ABSORPTION, WEIGHT-CHANGE BY AIR SUSPENSION, RHEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS (RUN-OUT TIME, RUN-OFF ON PERPENDICULAR AND SPREAD ON HORIZONTAL SURFACES), TENSILE STRENGTH AND BEHAVIOUR UNDER STRAIN, ADHESION TO SUB SURFACES, EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE CHANGE, DURABILITY UNDER CHEMICAL ATTACK, BRIDGING OF FISSURES.
