LEGISLATION ON ROAD ENVIRONMENT: GENERAL ASPECTS AND CONSIDERATION OF ITS EFFECT ON OUTSIDE PUBLICITY

LEGISLACION SOBRE EL ENTORNO DE LA CARRETERA: ASPECTOS GENERALES Y CONSIDERACION ESPECIAL DE SU INCIDENCIA EN LA PUBLICIDAD EXTERIOR

A REVIEW IS PRESENTED OF REGULATIONS GOVERNING HIGHWAYS IN SPAIN FROM THE MIDDLE AGES TO THE 1974 LAW. THE AUTHOR EXAMINES PRESENT LEGISLATION CONCERNING THE INFLUENCE ZONES OF THE ROAD FOR CONVENTIONAL ROADS AND FOR MOTORWAYS (REST AND SERVICE AREAS, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION AREAS). ATTENTION IS DRAWN TO THE LIMITATIONS AND INTERDICTIONS OF ERECTING BUILDINGS, PUTTING UP PUBLICITY EXHIBITS, PLANTING VEGETATION, AND TO THE SPECIAL CONDITIONS IN FORCE FOR THE CROSSING OF TOWNS AND URBAN NETWORKS. MENTION IS ALSO MADE OF THE RESPECTIVE COMPETENCES OF THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND CENTRAL GOVERNMENT AS REGARDS THE GRANTING OF PERMITS.
