FIRST USE OF GYPSONAT IN MATERIALS STABILIZED WITH GRANULATED SLAG ON SITES IN THE ESSONNE DEPARTMENT

DE LA PREMIERE UTILISATION DU GYPSONAT DANS LES MATERIAUX TRAITES AU LAITIER GRANULE SUR DES CHANTIERS DU DEPARTEMENT DE L'ESSONNE

THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES A NUMBER OF SITES WHERE STABILIZATION WITH SLAG TAKES PLACE AND GYPSONAT IS USED. IT IS SHOWN HOW GYPSONAT PERMITS THE USE OF LESS REACTIVE SLAG FOR THE STABILIZATION OF VERY FINE SAND AND HOW IT TREBLES THE MECHANICAL STRENGTH OF THE MIXTURE COMPARED TO THAT OBTAINED WITH LIME. THE INCREASE IN MECHANICAL EFFICIENCY IS EVEN MORE MARKED AS REGARDS DEFORMABILITY CHARACTERISTICS. THANKS TO GYPSONAT, FINE SAND-SLAG CAN REPLACE TRADITIONAL GRAVEL-SLAG AND LEAD TO A SUBSTANTIAL SAVING. THE SIMPLIFIED STRUCTURE, MADE POSSIBLE BY THE VERY HIGH COMPACTIBILITY OF FINE SAND SLAG, IS ALSO A SOURCE OF ECONOMY.
