EVALUATION OF EL TORO AIRFIELD BY LAYERED THEORY
THE TECHNIQUES OF THE LAYERED PAVEMENT METHOD FOR THE DESIGN OF FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS HAS BEEN USED TO EVALUATE THE EL TORO MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, EL TORO, CALIFORNIA. THIS EVALUATION HAS PRODUCED IN-SITU MODULI OF DEFORMATION FOR ALL COMPONENTS OF THE FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS. THESE IN-SITU MODULI HAVE BEEN CORRELATED WITH THE DEPTH OF THE VARIOUS LAYERS, FIELD DENSITY, FIELD MOISTURE, AND SOIL TYPES. A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE GEOLOGIC SETTING OF THE STATION IS INCLUDED. /AUTHOR/
