THE CONTROL OF CRACKING IN RIGID PAVEMENTS

A BRIEF DISCUSSION IS GIVEN ON THE EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE, MOISTURE, SUBGRADE CONDITION AND OTHER FACTORS UPON VOLUME CHANGES OF CONCRETE AND THE RELATION OF VOLUME CHANGE TO CRACKING. SOME VALUES OF THE COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION BETWEEN SLAB AND SUBGRADE ARE GIVEN.
