BITUMINOUS PAVEMENTS

THREE SEPARATE ARTICLES ARE CONJOINED UNDER THE SUBHEADINGS BITUMINOUS MACADAM, PREMIXED TYPES, AND BASES AND SUBBASES. EACH SECTION IS DIVIDED INTO A GENERAL DISCUSSION OF THE STATE OF KNOWLEDGE AND A SET OF TENTATIVE CONCLUSIONS REGARDING MATERIALS, DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION METHODS, AND SERVICEABILITY. THE SECOND SECTION GIVES PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO RECENT RESEARCH IN ASPHALT PAVING MIXTURES AND THEIR STABILITY.
