HOW OKLAHOMA USES ITS PRESENT HIGHWAYS TO ESTABLISH CRITERIA FOR EVALUATING FUTURE STRUCTURAL DESIGN NEEDS
THE USE OF EXISTING HIGHWAYS AS RESEARCH PROJECTS TO OBTAIN HIGHWAY PERFORMANCE DATA AND USING EXISTING PEDOLOGICAL INFORMATION TO DEFINE THE SOILS, TOPOGRAPHIC AND CLIMATIC ENVIRONMENT OF THE HIGHWAYS IS EXPLORED. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT ANALYSIS OF THE DATA FROM A LARGE NUMBER OF PROJECTS IN MANY DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS WOULD LEAD TO A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF PROBLEMS OF HIGHWAY DESIGN. /AUTHOR/
