LOAD-DEFLECTION RESPONSE OF LAYERED FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT SECTIONS UNDER RIGID BEARING PLATES

NON-DIMENSIONAL TECHNIQUES WERE EMPLOYED TO ANALYZE DATA FROM RIGID PLATES BEARING ON FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT SECTIONS. RESPONSE EQUATIONS WERE DEVELOPED TO DESCRIBE PAVEMENT LOAD DEFLECTION BEHAVIOR AT THE SURFACE, BASE COURSE, AND SUBGRADE OF THE LAYERED SYSTEM. DATA INCLUDE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT TEST PROCEDURES, TEMPERATURES, AND LIMITED REPETITIVE LOADINGS. EMPIRICAL EQUATIONS WERE PROPOSED TO DESCRIBE RESPONSE TRENDS, AND SPECIFIC COEFFICIENTS WERE DETERMINED FOR VARIOUS TEST CONDITIONS.
