AN ANTI-LITTER CAMPAIGN REDUCES MAINTENANCE

THE ROLES OF MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENTS, THE PUBLIC, POLICE, AND ROADSIDE PROPERTY OWNERS IN COMBATTING LITTER ARE DISCUSSED. IT IS NOTED THAT ALTHOUGH THE INITIAL MAINTENANCE COSTS OF AN ANTILITTER CAMPAIGN ARE VERY HIGH, THE RESULTING CLEANLINESS TENDS TO PERPETUATE ITSELF, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OTHER THREE COMPONENTS SUPPORT AND ENFORCE THE PROGRAM.
