REPORT ON CULVERT INVESTIGATION

THE COLLATERAL BENEFITS REALIZED IN GEORGIA, CALIFORNIA, TENNESSEE AND VIRGINIA FROM SURVEYS OF CULVERT CONDITION ARE REVIEWED. THE PROBLEM OF COMPARISON OF THE SERVICE CHARACTERISTICS OF DIFFERENT KINDS OF CULVERTS FROM RECORDS OF FIELD SURVEYS IS DISCUSSED. THE SUGGESTED METHODS FOR EVALUATING THE RESULTS OF SUCH SURVEYS OF CORRUGATED METAL AND CONCRETE PIPE CULVERTS, WHILE NOT ENTIRELY COMPLETE, ARE THOUGHT TO BE OF VALUE IN THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF SMALL DRAINAGE STRUCTURES AND IN SELECTION OF TYPE. /AUTHOR/
