FORMDATA. METHOD OF OBTAINING HYDROSTATIC DATA FOR SHIP DESIGN PURPOSES
Formdata is an attempt to provide the designer with the information which he needs, but without restricting him to a particular basic design; this means that he need no longer rely on a basis ship in order to carry out his hydrostatic calculations. It provides him with a quick and easy method of estimating the hydrostatic properties of the proposed design from really reliable material. The Formdata information is contained in a series of booklets published by the Shipbuilding Dept of the Technical University of Denmark. The application of this system to ship design problems is described.
