TESTING FULL-WEB STEEL BEAMS PRESTRESSED BY THE RODS /IN POLISH/

THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES EXPERIMENTS OF FULL-WEB STEEL BEAMS PRESTRESSED BY TIE RODS OF EXTRA FINE STEEL. MEASUREMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT DURING PRESTRESSING AND DURING LOADING ON THE TEST RIG. THE FOLLOWING DATA WERE RECORDED: VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL DEFORMATION AND EXTENSION OF THE TIE ROD. STRAIN GAUGES WERE USED TO MEASURE THE STRESSES IN THE WIRES OF THE TIE RODS. RESULTS SHOWED THAT (1) THE ELASTIC PLASTIC PHASE OCCURS WHEN THE LOAD VALUE IS LOWER THAN CALCULATED, (2) DEFLECTIONS CAUSED BY EXTERNAL LOADING WERE LARGER THAN THEORETICAL DEFLECTIONS, (3) THERE EXISTS A GOOD AGREEMENT BETWEEN CALCULATED AND MEASURED STRESSES IN THE TIE RODS, AND (4) BETWEEN THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS OF RUPTURE FORCE AND ULTIMATE BEARING CAPACITY. /RRL/
