FIELD TESTS ON SHRINKAGE-COMPENSATED CEMENT CONCRETE /IN SWEDISH/

THE RESULTS RELATING TO SIX CONCRETE STRUCTURES FOR WHICH THE CONCRETE WAS MADE WITH SHRINKAGE-COMPENSATED PORTLAND CEMENT ARE PRESENTED. THE SHRINKAGE-COMPENSATED CEMENT USED FOR THE FIRST FOUR OF THESE STRUCTURES HAD A DEGREE OF EXPANSION OF 0.05 PERCENT, WHILE THE SHRINKAGE-COMPENSATED CEMENT EMPLOYED FOR THE OTHER TWO STRUCTURES HAD A DEGREE OF EXPANSION THAT WAS NEARLY TWICE AS HIGH, VIZ., 0.09 PERCENT. IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST FIVE STRUCTURES, THE METHOD OF CURING WAS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE JOB DESCRIPTION. THE LEVEL OF EXPANSION RECORDED ON JOB-STORED CONCRETE PRISMS WAS FOUND TO BE TOO LOW. STRUCTURE NO. 6, A CONCRETE SLAB FOR A PAVEMENT, WAS SPRAYED WITH WATER AFTER POURING. IN THIS CASE, THE DEGREE OF EXPANSION RECORDED ON JOB-STORED CONCRETE PRISMS WAS 0.08 PERCENT. /AUTHOR/
